Somerset & Dorset

Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club

A bit tardy with the news due to pressures of work. We met up on Tuesday 20th for a ride to Shaftesbury. Actually I walked up Gold Hill get to to The Mitre, but everyone else rode. We try and head towards where member lives on the 3rd Tuesday ride out as Somerset and Dorset as so large.

The Mitre’s an old 14th century pub and makes a good meeting point as it’s in the middle of the town.

The Mitre

The weather was wet and only JC, Dave, Nige new friend Steve came along.

Relaxed evening

Much as discussed about the trip to Germany (see pics in Run Away) and forthcoming Legend Rally at  Bexleyheath, which I was unable to go as it clashed with the High Voltage rock festival in Victoria Park – which was dead good.

Waterproofs time - it was wet

This forthcoming Tuesday, 3rd August, is at the Quick Silver in Yeovil, so come along.  For details on where we meet, see the main page on “Club Life”

So Gentlefolk, a good night in Yeovil at the Quicksilver pub tonight. Our membership has grown to 63.

Keep a watch out, under “Run Away”, for the forthcoming photo’s and write up of the Germany trip. It sounds like a good time was had by all.

Good night out, time to head for home

Our next ride out will be to Shaftesbury. Check “Club Life” for details.

Tony.

The evening of Tuesday 19th May was dry but unfortunately I was too unwell to join the others for 3rd Tues ride out.  Clare and I had a few nights away in the caravan in the Peak District a few weeks ago but she was unwell, poor thing.  Unfortunately living in a tin can, in the wet and windy peaks, with someone coughing and spluttering was always likely to ensure that I caught whatever it was she had.  A couple of weeks later and I still feel dreadful.

The plan was to meet at top of town car park in Dorchester and make our way to Poole Quay.  I got a call from Dave Thompson to find out whether I was on my way, but I had to make my excuses.  John, Andy, Ted and Nigel also went along to eye up the huge turn out of bikes, that usually meet up on the Quay each Tuesday, and enjoy some seaside fish & chips.
